Amendment to GMP+ Appendix 4 Company minimum requirements for sampling and Analysis

Intended for: GMP+-certified companies and certification bodies

GMP+ Appendix 4, Minimum Company minimum requirements for sampling and Analysis, has been modified with effect from 1 October. Minimum requirements for analyses have now been laid down for a large number of feed materials.

The amendment has established a uniform basis for the monitoring of undesirable substances in feed materials. In addition, this has simplified the mutual recognition of GMP+ 2006 with QS and Ovocom. Comparable requirements for monitoring are, after all, laid down in these schemes.

Minimum monitoring requirements have been included in the updated appendix for nearly all feed materials.

The list of feed materials corresponds to the feed materials in the Feed Materials Risk Assessment Database (DRV) list. In addition, all feed materials and undesirable substances will be duplicated in the Database of Undesirable Substances (DOS) so that it will be possible to enter analysis results.

The list of Salmonella-critical feeds has been scrapped as a result of the Salmonella reporting 2008. The protocol for the sampling and analysis of Salmonella-critical feeds has become a general protocol. Additionally, a number of other protocols have been scrapped. The requirements were established in close cooperation with experts in the sector.
