This relates to a change to the GMP+ requirements to state the GMP+ status of a feed.
In the requirements until now the GMP+ status of a feed had be stated always. The change to the text amounts to just the status of non-GMP+ feeds being made known and then only to GMP+ companies or to companies which participate in a system approved by GMP+.
The basic principle is that a participant trades GMP+-certified feeds. The GMP+-certified customer may assume that his GMP+-certified supplier delivers GMP+-assured products. The trade in non-GMP+-assured products is considered to be an exception which deviates from the regular trade. The written notification of the non-standard situation is necessary.
The instruction for the reporting of the GMP+ status of the products is limited to those customers who are GMP+-certified or who are certified in accordance with another quality system specified by the PDV as equivalent. These equivalent certification schemes are specified in GMP+ Appendix 10. This avoids negative clauses in contracts or delivery documents being inserted when selling to areas or customers who have no knowledge of or interest in GMP+.
The proposed text gives the customers certainty with respect to the GMP+ status of products and avoids undesired side effects.
