Road Transport Loads Database and GMP Appendix 14


Intended for: Feed and Transport Companies and Certification Bodies

Changes have been made to the loading category classification in Appendix 14 Minimum Requirements for Road Transport. These changes have also been implemented in the Road Transport Loads Database.

The International Committee for Road Transport (PDV, Ovocom, QS and Qualimat) has classified  a new product and added 3 synonyms. The classifications have now been incorporated into the Road Transport Loads Database and GMP Appendix 14 which have been published today on the PDV website at the same time as this newsletter.

The following new substances have been classified:

  • Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether (Trade name: Dowanol DPM CAS nr. 34590-94-8) will be classified in LR3C (nr. 30256);
  • 1-Methoxy-2-propanol (Tradename: Dowanol PM CAS nr. 107-98-2) will be classified in LR3C (nr. 30257);
  • Bicalcium phosphate (not of animal origin) will be classified in LR4a (nr. 40309)
  • Monocalcium phosphate will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40310)
  • Magnesium phosphate will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40311)
  • Tricalcium phosphate (twobasic or onebasic) will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40312)
  • Conchylicoles nets and dried shell of mussels will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40313)
  • Dried Grapeseeds will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40314)
  • Rootlet of barley will be classified in LR4A (nr. 40315)
  • Lead oxide (CAS nr. 1317-36-8) will be classified in LR1 (nr. 10057)
  • PolyTetraMethyleneEtherGlycol PTMEG (Tradename: Terathane ® CAS 25190-06-1) will be classified in LR 3C (nr. 30258)
  • Polyoxyalkylene triol (Tradename: Caradol SA36-02 CAS 9082-00-2) will be classified in LR3C (nr. 30259)
  • Glue, liquid (Tradename: Kaurit glue 285 liquid) will be classified in LR 3C (nr. 30260)
  • Fatty acid mixture from Bio-oil production will be classified in LR3C (nr. 30261)

The above changes to the Road Transport Loads Database and GMP Appendix 14 will apply and are binding immediately.

Compatibility has been established with effect from 18 December 2007 with the organisations Qualimat, OVOCOM and PDV. There is still a list of product differences which the carrier should regularly consult on http://www.qualimat.org/ , http://www.ovocom.be/ or http://www.pdv.nl/ . This differences list should be complied with completely. The strictest regime to be applied will be determined by the recipient party. It is the intention of the organisations to have the same assessments and classification of these products within a foreseeable period
