During the creation of the HACCP manual (GMP⁺ Appendix 15), the Product Board Animal Feed (as the administrator for the GMP⁺ scheme animal feed sector 2006) collaborated closely with QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH of Germany (being the body responsible for the QS mark). The cooperation was established following the compatibility process between GMP⁺ and QS with the aim of bringing about uniformity in the application of HACCP principles. QS will also publish a comparable HACCP manual today.

Minor differences can be seen between the two versions of the HACCP manuals due to differences in the history and structure of the certification schemes of the Product Board Animal Feed and the German QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH respectively. With respect, however, to the essence of the HACCP principles and the depth to which they are to be applied, there are no differences.

HACCP information meeting
The updated HACCP manual will be presented to the GMP⁺-certified companies on Tuesday, 30 September 2008, during an information meeting with the theme "HACCP in the Feed Sector". This meeting will be organized by the Product Board Animal Feed (PDV) and the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (VWA).
