Happy with the agreement, PDV Secretary
Johan den Hartog and QS director Hermann-Josef Nienhoff shake hands on it.
This is in accordance with the contract signed today in Bonn between QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH and the Product Board Animal Feed (PDV).
The basis for this contract lies in the ‘European Meat Alliance’. This alliance laid down common criteria with respect to foodstuff safety for the quality assurance systems in Belgium (Certus), Denmark (QSG), the Netherlands (IKB) and Germany (QS).
The Dutch GMP+ companies may now apply to QS without any additional audit and enter into an individual contract. All companies which meet the requirements set by QS and which have signed a QS system contract will then be listed on the QS website.
There is, among others, the requirement for the GMP companies that no growth-promoting antibiotics may be used. In addition, the simple feeds must meet the requirements of the German positive list for feed materials and, if desired, they must provide the audit results to QS. Companies may register with QS with effect from 8 April 2005 via the website (http://datenbank.q-s.info) and must select the Prüfinstitut ‘ZZZ-PDV’.
